NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Housing Authority of the City of Hammond, Indiana (HHA) in accordance with the regulation outlined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and in accordance with the HHAs Admission and Continued Occupancy Policy and Notice PIH 2020-05. Households must have a minimum of one (1) person and a maximum of six (6) persons in household. This is for placement on a waiting list only.  This is not an offer for housing.

Applications are limited to 500.

A notification will be sent out within 120 days of application date via USPS to those applicants placed on the waiting list. No phone calls please.  Please note a confirmation number from the website does not guarantee placement on the waiting list.

PUBLIC NOTICE RE: COVID-19 MEETING FORMAT FOR HAMMOND HOUSING AUTHORITY

The members of the Housing Authority of the City of Hammond Board of Commissioners (“HHA”) will conduct its regular monthly Board meeting on Monday, April 27, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.  Normally, in the ordinary course of business, the HHA would require in-person attendance by at least four (4) members of the HHA pursuant to the Indiana Open Door Law.  However, consistent with Executive Order 20-08, issued by Governor Eric J. Holcomb in connection with COVID-19, a severe acute respiratory illness that can spread among people through respiratory transmissions, the HHA will conduct its regular monthly Board meeting scheduled for April 27, 2020, via electronic means. The HHA welcomes and appreciates public participation in its public meetings. Please see below for information about how to attend the meeting, and the process for providing public comment.

Consistent with HHA’s standard process and administrative rules, the Board meeting will include a public comment period at the end of the meeting consistent with HHA policy.  Commenters are asked to refrain from speaking until they are specifically acknowledged by HHA’s Chairman during the applicable portion of the meeting. The meeting agenda will be posted publicly no later than forth-eight (48) hours prior to the Board meeting.

Members of the public wishing to provide public comments are strongly encouraged to submit their requests in writing, no later than 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2020, via e-mail to the following address: mpaniagua@hammondhousing.org.
